How this was made

Every stock photo of a tradie looks like a stock photo of a tradie, and anyone who actually swings a hammer can tell in about a second. A generated one is worse. So instead of buying a picture of the job, we drew the paperwork the job produces: the docket, the calendar card, the phone ringing out, the label tape, the stamp.

All of it is SVG and CSS, sitting in the page rather than loading over the network. That is partly a taste decision and partly a speed one. A site that promises to answer your phone before it rings out should not take four seconds to draw itself.

• Anton sets the headlines. It is the face of ute signwriting and line-marking stencils, which is the register the whole site is written in.
• Instrument Serif, italic only, is the accent. It is rationed to one run per screen. A second one on the same view would make neither of them mean anything.
• Courier Prime types the labels on the artefacts, and nothing else. Never body copy.
• Inter carries the body text, including these words.

Next.js and Tailwind, deployed on Vercel. The scroll is smoothed with Lenis, and every scroll-linked effect on the front page runs off a single shared animation loop that only ever writes transforms and opacity, so the page keeps its frame rate on the mid-range Android a tradie is actually holding.

Real customer work, with permission, or photography we commissioned. It would be credited here, by name. Nothing generated, and no faces that belong to nobody.
